Birthday Week Envelope

This last week we headed up to a lake house in northern Minnesota. When we weren't swimming or boating,  us ladies were mad-crafting (definition: crafting that causes a mad mess, the kind of mess that shocks the husband when he gets back from golfing). One of my favorites was this darling birthday week envelope. The idea is to fill an accordion like envelope package with different small gifts for a special someone's birthday week. My amazing mother-in-law brought all the darling supplies all the way from UT.

Supplies:
7 envelopes
adhesive of your choice
scrapbook paper
embellishments (ribbon, buttons, etc)
mini-gifts to stuff the envelopes

Step 1: Attach the envelopes together by by gluing the envelope tops to the back of another envelope. Continue gluing all 7 envelopes together

Step 2: Line the envelopes with paper of your choice

Step 3: The fun part: DeCoRaTe!  I made two so here are a few pics so you can get an idea of what I did. I wish I would've taken picture's of my sis-in-laws and mom-in-laws envelopes. They were totally darling and blew mine out of the water!

Step 4: Fill 'em up! We filled ours with cutesie hand wipes, ghiradelli chocolate squares, see's peanut brittle, altoids, a mini notepad &  gift cards

Step 5: Fold it up and give it to the birthday boy or girl!

Money Tissue Box Tutorial

Alright folks, let's start this post with a dose of pure honesty: I dread my brothers' birthdays. Yep. Dread. What do you get teenage boys that they actually want, and that you can actually afford? Pretty sure my brothers would love new cars but thats not exactly in my budget, nor will it be anytime soon. Up until this point my only solution to this annual problem was gift cards and cash in a funny (or what I think is funny) card.  Well, here's an idea to spice up the cash giving.

 A Money Tissue Box

What you need:
An empty tissue box
Cash (preferably in ones-makes it more fun!)
12x12 paper
Glue dots or double sided tape
Scissors
Masking tape

Step one: Carefully dissemble and unfold the kleenex box. It will still be in one long piece but you can easily see how it is divided into 4 sections.   *Again do not cut the box. It should stay in one piece for the entire project*

Step two: Flip the box over and trace each section separately onto the backside of the paper.

3. Cut out each piece of paper and tape to the coordinating section of the outside of the box.

 4. Once all sections have been taped down, refold the creases of the original kleenex box.

5. Refold kleenex box and tape the insides in place.

6. Add how ever many embellishments your heart desires. I just added a "Don't 'BLOW IT' all in one place" tag.

7. Use masking tape to attach dollar bills together like an accordion and place in tissue box.

And there you have it! A fun, easy, 20 min gift, that is way more fun than a card.  :)

Corbin's 2nd Birthday

Man, I wish I had all the money in the world to plan this party for my little man but since thats not a reality I had to be creative and frugal. I got the idea for the party by simply combining my son's two favorite things: Elmo & Football.

I created the different decor elements with the help of my beloved Circuit.

Invites created with a little Photoshop magic

 "Kick" the Field Goal

The Kids Table-Football hats which were ironically only worn by the parents and the "Elmo's Goldfish Jar" which was a hit!

Coloring-I was able to find a ton of Elmo Football coloring pages online for FREE.
